This is great, but can we take a minute and acknowledge that we were at war for almost all of Lincoln’s presidency?  Just saying…. of course, he did say he was willing to tolerate slavery in order to keep the Union together.  I guess that’s peaceful.  I guess…. and we were at war in Vietnam during the entirety of JFK’s presidency.   I think it becomes too easy to glorify people when they’ve taken a bullet to the head.
